FAQ
Advice for users:
You have to use ONLY MOBILITY PASSWORD for accessing WiFi network from 26.10.2011. Any other password request (for "KOS password") should be never entered.
Available networks
You can use two WiFi networks (SSIDs) at our faculty. At locations Dejvice, Charles Square (KN) and Horska WiFi is available to all the faculty crew and also for other universities.
We are member of eduroam roaming (
www.eduroam.cz,
www.eduroam.org), so EDUROAM is available here.
Or for simple connection use FSROAM.

Guides
Establishing connection to FSROAM is quite simple.
Connection to Access point is free, unencrypted and easy to install. After obtaining
IP, run broswer, enter any address (URL) and provide authentification using mobility password. After Authentification you can use the internet.
Connection to EDUROAM connection to Access Point is encrypted and slightly more dificult to setup. Parameters are
in the table and radius server below):
Windows 7 (guide on eduroam.cz)
Windows Vista (guide on eduroam.cz)
Windows XP (guide on eduroam.cz)

Radius servers
For authorization in eduroam it is necessary to set up PEAP and the correct server.
For non-FME users use guides and settings from their organization. For FME users is following:
| server:
| radius.fs.cvut.cz
|
| certificate:
| "AddTrust External CA Root" (chain > UTN-USERFirst-Hardware > TERENA SSL CA), if not in your OS use TERENA SSL CA (from Terena)
|
| login:
| yourLoginInDupsu@fs.cvut.cz (for example einstein@fs.cvut.cz)
|
| password:
| mobility password from DUPS

Rules and Policy
1.
Users are obliged to use the network according to Regulations for use of CTU network and
Regulations for use of FME network. It is mainly emphasized that the network serves for purposes of
study at the FME. We require all users to use the network in compliance with the academic environment!
2.
Users must login to the network according to instructions issued by the Computer Service Centre. Instructions are available on
these pages. Users are not authorized to operate server-oriented applications at CPEs.
3.
CPEs which have access to the FME WiFi network must be correspondingly secured by an appropriate configuration of the system
(security patches, antivirus programmes, firewalls, correct configuration of the operating system).
It these rules are violated, the user will lose the right of access to WiFi. In case of a more severe violation this will be announced to
the Vice-Dean for Education. Should you be confused, do not hesiate to contact us.

FAQ
I only have a system suporting standard 802.11b (max 11MBps), will that be sufficient ?
Hotspots support both standards, you will obtain access without difficulty. Your download speed will ,however, be lower.
I have a very bad signal in standard 802.11g. Can this be improved ?
Yes, you have two alternatives. Either move to a better locality or switch to standard 802.11b. This standard is "more bulletproof and has a wider range"
